Auto Insurance – Uninsured Motorists – Minimum coverage allowed is $15,000 per person/$30,000 per accident. It is usually sold in the same limits as liability.

This is particularly important in the case of a hit and run driver. You may claim on this coverage if you are injured by an uninsured motorist while driving, while riding a bicycle, or walking.

Auto Insurance – Comprehensive – Covers your own auto for fire, theft, vandalism, flood, wind damage, broken glass, or any property damage not involving a collision. Usually written with a deductible of $50 to $1,000.

Auto Insurance – Collision – Cover your auto involved in a collision (with another car or anything else (i.e. animals, building). Usually written with a deductible of $100 to $1000.

Auto Insurance – Rental Reimbursement – Written on auto policy to cover $15 per day for rental if your auto is in the shop as a result of a collision. Maximum on most policies is 15 days or $300.
